Installation

Get FM Skin Builder up and running on your system in just a few minutes.

System Requirements

FM Skin Builder works on all major operating systems:

  • Windows: Windows 10 or later
  • macOS: macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later
  • Linux: Most modern distributions (Ubuntu 20.04+, Fedora, etc.)

You’ll also need:

  • Football Manager 2026 installed
  • At least 200MB of free disk space

Download the App

  1. Visit the downloads page on the FM Skin Builder website.
  2. Download the installer for your operating system:
    • Windows: fm-skin-builder-setup.exe
    • macOS: fm-skin-builder.dmg
    • Linux: fm-skin-builder.AppImage or .deb package

Installation Instructions

Windows

  1. Run the downloaded fm-skin-builder-setup.exe
  2. Follow the installation wizard
  3. Launch FM Skin Builder from the Start Menu

Security Note: Windows may show a “Windows protected your PC” warning because the app isn’t signed. Click “More info” then “Run anyway” to proceed.

macOS

  1. Open the downloaded fm-skin-builder.dmg file
  2. Drag the FM Skin Builder icon to your Applications folder
  3. Launch from Applications

Security Note: macOS may block the app on first launch. Go to System Preferences → Security & Privacy and click “Open Anyway”.

Linux

Using AppImage:

chmod +x fm-skin-builder.AppImage ./fm-skin-builder.AppImage

Using .deb package (Debian/Ubuntu):

sudo dpkg -i fm-skin-builder.deb sudo apt-get install -f # Fix any dependencies

Launch from your application menu or run fm-skin-builder from terminal.

First Launch

When you first open FM Skin Builder:

  1. The app will display a green indicator showing it’s ready
  2. You’ll see two main tabs: Build and Logs
  3. The app will attempt to auto-detect your FM installation

If the app can’t find your Football Manager installation automatically, don’t worry - you can manually specify the bundle location in the Using the App guide.

Verifying Your Installation

To make sure everything is working:

  1. Open FM Skin Builder
  2. Check that the status indicator in the top-right is green
  3. You should see the Build interface with input fields
